getting ready for july

June 21st, 2019 at 01:26 am

Well our house guest leaves in 16 days...so starting the 8th july will work hard to get back on track..they leave on the 8th and we have 2 days after that before payday so in that time we will get our menu plan done for a couple of weeks so can get our food budget back on track (have been so bad with just 1 extra person), hopefully we will use less gas as we won't be driving as much...all bills are paid on time so that is fine but really have to start hitting our goals hard over next couple months which are
1. get ICE account up to $2000
2. pay off the CC again
3.get car account back to where it was
4. start saving for a house

so thats what I will be doing for a couple days after our house guest leaves...looking forward to it..although the weather here is cold and wet so no incentive to go out when we don't have to...

US taxes SUCK!!!

June 18th, 2019 at 08:52 pm

We have been trying to get all of our US taxes sorted..which has been a nightmare and still not sorted..a slight rundown....my hubby ex military and gets SS as well...so we need to do taxes every year which has never been an issue...well in august 2018 last year I got a letter saying that I needed a new ITIN I sent everything they asked for and go a letter in late oct 2018 saying they needed more info...which I sent to them in early nov (a week later) we are still yet to hear from them...have tried calling get no answer...we sent our taxes in mid feb 2019 with a letter stating that we were still waiting on my ITIN but had filled out all the tax forms...we kept looking online still nothing showed up...we finally got a hold of someone in Texas and they said that they couldn't find that anything has been received yet...so to resend in...so now our taxes are late...hubby has to file singl as I don't have a current number and we instead of a small return we now owe ove $2000 plus late fees and penalty fees none of which is our fault...living over here we can't upload and do online we have to send it in via mail...this is so frustrating...all they say is going into an office...a little hard when your in a different country and there are none here...so tonight will be sitting up late trying to see if we can get some more info...so freakin frustrating...especially with hubby still sick with pnemonia

I have put a few comments on here and I get emails to say that people have commented on my posts but nothing ever shows up that have been on my posts or that I have posted...is this happening to anyone else? or does anyone know how to fix it?

CC payment

June 17th, 2019 at 05:30 am

Have paid $550 off the CC this month...slowly but surely getting it down...

Everything is moving along slowly with our accounts will speed up in july when our house guest leaves and I can get back on track with everything...

It's getting real picked up flight tickets today only have 20 days before she leaves...it has gone way to fast...trying not to spend extra money this month but we will see what happens...hard when you have visitors and ones you won't see again for years

But making more progress this month than I thought we would...so happy

hate winter

June 16th, 2019 at 12:24 am

I hate the winter and this one has been cold and damp...my hubby has copd and has been battling bronchitis for 11 weeks everytime he stops the meds it comes back...he was feeling a bit off a couple days ago and I was going to the movies with my friend the kids call me and say they are calling an ambulance as he didn't look well and was shivering and couldn't stop...so I leave my friend at the movies and by the time I get home they were loading him in the ambulance...after a few hours and tests they found out he had pnemonia so was hospitalised for a couple days with heavy antibiotics...he came home today and is doing much better but still on meds...its times like this that I am lucky in our country we have socialised medicine and it didn't cost us anything...except the meds when he cam home which was around $30...

We are pretty lucky here the movie theatre returned my money as I didnt actualy get to see any of the movie...my hubby has a disability parking permit so parking didn't cost anything....it things like this that pop up that I really want to get my ice account back up to where it was...working on it but it is a process

my friend leaves in 3 weeks it has gone way to fast but also looking forward to getting back into a rountine...I can't wait to get back into menu planning and getting my budget back on track

australia is weird

June 6th, 2019 at 07:14 pm

I was talking to a morg person the other day as when we buy a house we want it paid off in 5-8 years...ad I asked so if we pay extra payments on the morg and something happens does that mean we don't have to pay it for a few months since we would be ahead...they are like no...you still have to make the monthly payment...I thougt that was kinda rough they do everything to make things hard over here for us...but will sure be looking around and making sure we find everything out in the next year or so....apparently they do this with all loans but since we haven't had a loan in a few years we just don't really pay attention..guess we had better start doing some research so we can get the best deal for us.

yah payday

June 2nd, 2019 at 07:14 pm

I love love love paydays...especially when my accounts are looking dismal...but I now have a budget I am sticking to and hope we can deal with the food costs by being a bit more creative.

We almost have our ice account half full and money back in our car account, all other bills are paid (monthly ones), I have paid a monthly amount to the car account...although we do have some catch up to do with that probably wont be till july/aug to get it back to where it should be

Any extra money will go onto the CC but not sure how much yet...that is 3rd on my list to work on but will make payments...its the only debt we have so as long as we are paying on it I am happy...

It's funny reading some of these posts where banks and CC companies reward you for using their products in Australia we don't get anything like that..wish we did it might make the banks work a little harder...they charge you and arm and leg for everything but never reward you with anything...for those in other countries how much do the rewards offered affect the way you think of banking? would you still use them if they didn't offer rewards? I find this interesting
