whos bored?

April 21st, 2020 at 07:12 am

I have to say I don't think i can watch to much more tv/dvds, do many more puzzles...I am bored...being home is driving me crazy and it has been getting cold here which doesn't help...we are all going stir crazy...just wish we had something else to do...the only time we leave is for medical appointments and shopping...we don't really need to shop much at all other than fresh stuff which we usually do once a week...not spending any money anywhere....so how does everyone else stopping themselves from going stir crazy??

Best thing I have done is long phone calls with friends. Doing some extra house cleaning and lots of cooking, clean up, cook again. Baking more treats for my husband.

I have been working at home for the last month, but what I can do at home is somewhat limited. So, I, too, am bored.

I am still working full time but we're bored at work because our volume has dropped by 80% so there's a ton of down time. It's not too bad on the days when I've got a fun crew with me but there have been some days when I had a not-so-good crew and those days really dragged.

As for at home, I have done video chats with numerous people so that's been fun. With all 3 of us home every day, we've been doing a lot more family dinners. Normally, my daughter works M-W-F nights and I work T-Th nights so family dinners weren't all that common, just on weekends. We've also taken several family walks which hasn't happened since our daughter was a toddler. I think we've had 2 family movie nights so far.

I'm do feel for those of you in the climates where it is getting colder or still cold. I'm in a climate where it warm, even hot right now, so it's very easy to sit out on our deck, porch or go for a walk. I'm not bored at all, in fact, I have quite a few things I want to work on and I am just not getting to all of them as fast as my brain wants to! Do you have anything you are curious about, so you could do a deep dive into researching or learning about it? Is there a hobby you have always wanted to learn, or a place you want to visit that you could start exploring online?

I know you can't do this because you are on the autumn side of the equator, but I've been keeping myself busy in the garden. I've also been watching this guy on youtube who goes out and does coastal foraging every day in Guernsey. They are allowed to go out for two hours per day to fish or gather shellfish. Since we can't even go to any source of water right now, I get my ocean fix from him. That has helped with some of my boredom as he is very entertaining. I am also reading and plotting a novel that I am about to start working on. If it comes down to it I will deep clean the house.

@creditcardfree. When I am not busy working, I have been doing an online course at udemy.com which will help me to enhance job related skills. Since I can't go to any job related conferences, this and a whole bunch of webinars is the next best thing.

I "joke" that I'm bored and boring!
One thing I'm finding helpful is exercise - six bike rides in eight days :-) It gives me energy and my brain is released - gets quite soothed!
