complete lockdown

November 18th, 2020 at 05:01 am

So forget yesterdays post about people panic buying...today was much worse the lines were over 100 metres long today...so we went home and will try again tonight.

So our state now has I think 34 cases and 17 of them are in the community (mainly 1 family) because of this and we want to stop the spread of covid our state as of midnight is in complete lockdown...only essential people are allowed to work, schools closed, childcare/schools are open but only for essential workers..can't even take a walk and only 1 person is allowed to go grocery shopping and masks are mandatory again if you are out...so hopefully we will have it back under control in no time...after 6 days they will see what is happening and then will either stay in lockdown or start easing things again...

So frustrating apparently an overseas visitor left their mandatory lockdown to go get a pizza and thats what started this in the community...only took 1 idiot

As someone who lives in the US, I am wishing our numbers were like yours. It's embarassing, quite frankly. The transmission rates near us are nearing 30% in some areas. And people are STILL fighting a lockdown while our hospitals are overrun.

Indeed, it only takes one idiot. That's why we're in this mess. Here in the US, we have an oversupply of idiots.

Yes I'm embarrassed by the US being so high and totally abdication of responsibility of leadership to allow it to run rampant and unchecked. The worse part is most of the supporters of the leadership are the very people who are dying or severely ill or will likely have long term health problems because they are choosing to ignore the warnings.

yes we havent had a case in months and now this but they are doing well and no new cases over night which is a positive but know that many might not be tested or showing symptoms...but glad that we are so strict it does give us a much better way of life...only 3 people in hospital with it all in stable condition...we will get there...sorry that you guys don't have the same protocols...would get you country back on track so much sooner and take so much pressure of the health system/schools etc

We're heading into a four-week lockdown starting tomorrow in Minnesota. Not as strict; we can take walks and go to stores, and childcare is allowed for non-essential as well as essential workers. But everything else is closed and they're telling people not to gather with anyone outside their immediate household. This is to try and stave off a Thanksgiving spike, because we're already having a spike and our healthcare staff and space is at or over capacity.

when we go into lockdown it is strict as..can't go to the beach or anything school and childcare is open to essential workers only till further notice...or vulnerable people (DV situations) but it works...so that why we did it...we had like 5 months of no covid in the community until this...so it is frustrating...but we will get on top of it...

Hopefully things start to improve world wide. It is just downright scary how the cases increase. As many commented before, we seem to have an overabundance of idiots.
