Australia has had no community covid cases for a week now...I know its only a week but that means the whole of australia has no covid cases in the community at all...hopefully will stay that way....we do have some in the quarantine hotels but they aren't in the community...so happy all the lockdowns and protocols we have been doing are working!!
I hope the US adopts some of these and your cases drop and you can start having your numbers drop...unfortunately I can't see this happening because unless each state does the same thing or you shut down your state it will continue to spread

With our absence of national leadership, though, we're just not going to make any real progress.
The vaccine will start being administered this week so that's a bright spot. But realistically, we've still got the better part of a year ahead of us before we gain any semblance of control in this country. And that's only if enough people agree to be vaccinated. Surveys show about 50% of people saying they don't want the vaccine. If that holds true, we can't ever achieve heard immunity which requires 75-80% of the population to get the vaccine.
This country is badly broken in so many ways.
