Ok I have to laugh at this and I'm sorry if it offends anyone but I can't help it.
Our state has had no communiy covid cases for months..one of the workers obviously didn't do the right thing when it came to protocols and now we have covid in the community..17 cases in the last 2 days...most with the same family..they have shut down I supermarket and 2 schools to clean them..should be reopened within 24 hours...but people here have started panic buying especially toiet paper...don't know why toilet paper isn't even part of the disease...but really 17 people and and they are panic buying things...I find this funny...shows you how easy we have had it for so long!!!

All our bills except our phones/groceries/gas are paid up till the end of the year....our christmas shopping is pretty much done..just a few small things to get and its all done...we do need to buy christmas food but that usually doesn't cost that much and we haven't been spending all our grocery budget so we should have enough to cover it all...we are hoping to get a storage container in the next month or so so we can store some stuff till we buy a house....it will cost us but that is life...hard to get a house with a shed anymore...
So pretty much any extra money we get between now and the new year will go into savings...for our house and our move in febthen hopefully within 12-18 months we can buy our own house.
Our youngest has had her surgery and recoverying nicely...she has had 3 job offers and starts her new job on 30 nov so she will start to pay us back after that...we will give her a couple pays to get some savings again then she will pay us back...so looks like everything is going smoothly right now...financially things are doing well...hope it stays that way

I have been looking at our grocery budget and the prices of things have gone up in a lot of areas...I knew they would at the beginning of the year because of last years bushfires here in Australia...but then covid hit and they increased again due to people panic buying....well the shelves have been full for months now but prices really haven't dropped...is that the same around the globe? although it hasn't really cost us anymore from what we budget...I am still keeping an eye on prices and sales...and we have never been big on take away so that really hasn't changed...how are others going when it comes to their food budget?

Christmas is in 45 days are you ready??
Just wondering how different christmas will be for you guys this year...i know our country has very few restrictions...no covid cases in the community (haven't for months except in 2 states which are now clear) only cases we have are in quarantine so we won't be any stipulations on where we can go or what we can do with how many people....just wondering if you guys have restrictions over there that will affect your christmas...such as travelling to see family or have them visit you, sending things through the mail...rather than visiting? or will you just play it safe and stay closer to home so you are safer from covid...I know you guys still have a lot of covid cases but we really don't hear much else on how it is affecting you all...if it is affecting your daily life...I hope whatever you are doing for christmas or whoever you are spending it with that you have an amazing day full of love, fun and happiness...we can all use lots of that!!
With our weather here it looks like its going to be a hot one here for christmas....hopefully not to hot!!

It's payweek this week..who doesn't love payweek..the only thing we need to use the money for is grocery and gas...the rest will go into savings.
Gas here for the last week has been 96c a litre (which is equal to 3.7 litres per gallon), don't know if that is cheap for you guys but it is for us...it has been around $1.47pl a majority of time so it has been nice...we still take out the same amount of gas money but we have about half left from the last pay...but being warmer we will probably use more gas going to the beach more
Grocery money has also been doing good...we haven't really been spending much..we have been tired so had takeaway a couple times...but we are also not buying specials since we are moving early next year...less to move so will save and restock the cupboards when we move
I have finished all the big presents for christmas...just need some stocking fillers and we are done...so glad to be done with that...the stores get crazy around christmas time...I hope everyone has a joyous christmas...it has been a hard year for everyone...just need lots of peace/love and joy in the world...can't believe christmas is in 45 days....😧...I feel this year has gone fast...but I am also ready for a new year

Just wondering how people think their current financial situations will change with whoever becomes President? i don't know all that they are proposing in their election promises and I don't understand all your IRS/Roth accts etc...but just wondering if any of you will find it more financially difficult or better off under either one? just curious..don't care who voted for who...or who gets in but how it will affect people financially if at all.

I have been doing my moms budget for a few years now, she was struggling and in debt...well she was debt free over a year ago...and we saved up some money for her to buy new furniture when she moved into her new rental...which she loved as it was needed. Her and my nephew (who has lived with her since birth) have been thriving since its just the 2 of them...she is stress free and although her budget is tight right now...her bills are all in credit and she said to me the other day "you made me live on a tight budget...now thats all I do is look at prices and watch how I spend my money....thankyou" I told her saving money would become a habit...I'm so glad she is still going strong with it..I love helping people budget...even better when they listen...although I do wish it was taught in schools so kids leave school with a good knowledge on money and how to stay out of debt

Australia had 2 days where we didn't have any new cases of covid...all the cases we have now are all travellers that are coming into the country from overseas...usually australians that have stayed or been stuck in other countries...we were only permitting 4000 pw into our country so it has been taking awhile....its weird to see as when people come back to our country they are escorted to a hotel where they are quarantined for 14 days...if they test negative they can go home..if they test positive they stay till they test negative....it has been this way for awhile...our state has been back to normal for months, everyone back at work, kids in school, the elderly doing fine...no community transfers for months...we still social distance, still sanitize everything...we don't wear masks...we hardly had any flu cases...due to covid measures....so when I see other countries struggling so hard and the numbers of people dying are stagerring to me...we have had 4 deaths (all elderly) in the beginning...but thats it...one of our states was really struggling but they are finally on top of it and hopefully will stay that way....borders to other states are starting to slowly open...
I hope you country gets a grip on it soon, I know you have so many more millions of people than we do...but I hope that life will be back to normal for you soon....unti then stay safe my friends!!

Wow this year is flying by fast..christmas is only 53 days away....🙄
Our accounts are starting to look normal again...our ice account is back to $2000...will leave it there for a bit...I know I should add to it but with us having to move in 3.5 months and saving for a house I would rather add the extra to the house account right now.
We have a couple of warm days here...so nice but hope it doesn't get to warm to quick since our aircon has been turned off as it was leaking into the roof...and now we have holes in the roof from the plumber...but still no word from anyone....it takes the owners forever to do anything here...one reason we want our own house again...I really want a home not a house...just hard over here.
I do think this year has been good though..we have updated our car (paid in cash), we have no debt..and we are saving so that is a good year for me and hopefully will be able to add to it each month...and in 12 months or more we can buy a house... we will need between $30-50,000 for a deposit depending on the house we buy...and that is only around 5% deposit...its sad!!...most of it is fees 🤬 but we will get there.
Our christmas shopping is almost done so can mark that off the list...going to be a quiet one this year....with us..his sons family, my mom and my sister and her hubby...have already done their gifts...just a few more to get for my hubby and me...and some stocking stuffers and the dog...then we are done except for food...
Hope everyone else is travelling along well...know you are all busy with the election..thanksgiving and then christmas....stay safe

Well on tuesday our roof came up with a leak..what was better was we had house inspection so she saw it for herself...she said she would get someone on it...someone came out thursday..and it was a bigger wetter spot on the roof (around 60 plus cm) they came out and said it was the air con leaking..so turned the water off and poked 2 holes in the roof to let it drain...and then left...haven't heard anything since...so who knows what is happening...hopefully we will hear something this week.
My daughter has surgery monday...it is day surgery and she wouldn't stay here..she wanted her own bed so her sister will spend the night with her to keep an eye on her just to make sure she is ok...then she starts her new job.
Its pay week for us..most bills are paid, almost all my christmas shopping is done, even stocking stuffers so most will go into our house deposit account which is looking a little sad right now.
We did find a house we really like but it is out of our price range but would have been perfect for us...but we will figure it out!!

So I wrote 3 blogs all which didn't show up so will try to do a catch up in as short version as I can!
So our savings for our house deposit was going great until my daughter stareted getting sick (she is never sick) so she went to see the doc and she needs surgery...we don't want her to wait or get sicker so we are paying for it (almost 9000) but she will be paying us back, and I have a contract drawn up and signed already...she didn't have a job the last couple months due to cutbacks at work and her roommate moved out..which is a whole new saga and she didn't pay her rent..so my daughter had to...so my daughter has her house back to herself, she has surgery on the 2nd nov...and she was just called today that she starts a new job 2 days after surgery...so she is happy!
We had house inspection today...first one in a year because of covid...whie she was here we noticed a big wet spot in the roof...it wasn't there last night...not sure what it is...we have had no rain..we haven't used the air con...so not sure...the woner will not be happy in last couple months she has had to redo the stove, just replaced the hot water system...and now this...hoping it isn't to bad...we are due to move in 4 months anyways as we don't think they will renew our lease...so we have that expense...but not sure what will happen with the roof issue now...only time will tell!! We are also waiting for them to change our water filter..we paid for the last one so they need to and they don't want to...if you can't afford to have rentals and the upkeep then don't..its that smple we pay so much money for this house and all she does is complain.
I am reading a new book about health...and it is spot on for what I have been wanting to work on and it is simple and easy to read...I have trouble reading a lot due to my dizziness it has affected my eyes..so will be working on that for next 12 months.
Have done around 94% of our christmas shopping so don't really have much to worry about there..can't wait to be done and knock that off my list...until next blog!!
Financially we are doing ok..have all yearly bills paid for the year..its payweek this week...since we will be moving in a few months will try to use the stocks in our freezer/fridge/pantry etc..so that will hopefully save some money.

had an eye appointment yesterday, was sure I would need glasses as my eyes have been really bad lately, only need them for reading but my eyesight has been blurry and my eyes real sore...so they run some tests on them..and it turns out that my eyes are really really dry...and the fat that is in my eyelids doent move around like it should because of that...so I have to put a warm heatpack on my eyes for 5 mins 3 times a day and put in a drop 3 times a day...started last night (done twice) and my eyes are already starting to feel a little better..but I didn't need new glasses so had no expenses for the appointment.
Went to my neuro physio yesterday as well changed up some exercises...cost me $105 but will get some of that back...not sure how much.
tommorrow is payday so can put some money away into our house account again!!

I think it looks like we will be going to buy a house around jan/feb 2022....if we have to move in feb 21 then we will end up with a 12 month lease...it is expensive to get out of a lease here so we will...just wait and keep saving for those 16 months...I'm sure that time will be here in no time...will also get more of a deposit so that will be nice

not much else to say hopefully next week (its pay week) I can put some money into our ice account!!

Well we still haven't heard about the taxes...so I'm thinking why bother doing them at all...sure we pay taxes and usually get a small refund but is it worth the hassle...we don't know if they even have them, we can't contact people over there...seriously how much trouble will we get in for not doing them..its only federal taxes and we will most likely save them money as they won't have to give us a refund...I'm kind of over the US tax system...I know they have been shut down and doing a lot...but we can't do it online we have to do it by mail...and we haven't heard in 6 months whether or not they have them...or if we have to resend them...it seems like a complete lack of professionalism on their part and to make it where you can't even enquire is just wrong...so maybe we just won't do them anymore!!

It is funny watching the news and see how rampant the virus is in other countries...our country freaks out at one state that was having several hundred cases a day..they went into lockdown...and now are averaging around 15 but still in lockdown a few things have changed but not many for most other states we have lived a normal life everything has been back to normal for months..we still sanatize everything and social distance...but not much else...we haven't had any cases for months...except the people returning to australia but they are taking off planes and taken to a covid hotel...where they have to quarantine for 14 days..if they test positive then they stay there until they test negative...they can' leave their rooms..food etc is delivered...so it doesn't spread...I know we have not many people have died compared to some countries like we have had in our country 894 people have died and 804 have been in one state...but mostly in people over 70 years old...
I hope every country gets control of this disease..and those that have the disease heal quickly and those that have lost people to this disease find some peace...

Can't believe it is october already...It was pay week this week and we have paid all bills and have money put into our home account...only need $35,462 now for our deposit..sounds like a lot but it is coming down each month...hoping to put some more in there during the month.
I did spend a bit on christmas gifts that I bought this week but that money will go back in december when my christmas money is available...
I have so many appointments coming up and already have them for nov/dec...this year is flying by fast...hope everyone is doing great know it has been a hard year for some.
I saw a lady whinging on a tv show about getting over covid...I'm so tired, I wake up so exhausted, I use to walk everywhere and now I can't...I just can't deal with this....I look at my hubby and we both start laughing...it sounds mean but this is our life everyday and has been for years...same with the pandemic it doesn't really change our life much due to my illness....I hate that I sound petty to some of you but when its with something you deal with all the time...you just can't sympathize with people who moan about how much their lives change because of the lockdown...who dont even get sick...its kind of nice for others to see how people with chronic illness live and what its like for them....enough said...i just hope anyone that has covid has a speedy reovery...I wouldn't wish it on anyone...

Had a good chat with my doctor...they are thinking that maybe a lotof my symptoms are stress and anxiety...not the dizziness but the rest of them...so they want to send me to a pyschologist who also does yoga...I will try anything at this point...it kind of make sense but since I don't feel stressed or anxious..then I just didn't think of it...and I'm not sure how to destress when I don't feel stressed so I'm hoping she will help...as I said I will try anything at this point...would be nice if that is all it is...
ordered a couple things for myself this week for relaxation mainly a bath pillow and a dvd for my daughter who has been doing so much...and the rest of the money I put into our ice acct...slowly getting it back up

Well we are ready for a new week...last week was a doozy!!
My dad passed away and was cremated on thursday...we have been dealing with it just fine...I knew he wasn't well or happy so glad that he can finally be at rest.
We have mom all moved and pretty settled she is still unpacking her boxes but she wanted to do that herself so she knows where everything is...she went and did a big shop so her pantry/fridge and freezer are all stocked..so can check that off the list...she is so happy that its just the 2 of them again...although they messed up the internet so need that sorted this week..
I have 3 appointments this week...hoping I can make them all as I have been so sick and dizzy that I haven't been able to do anything...
Ice acct has prett much been decimated so will work on that again

Thankyou everyone for your kind wishes on the passing of my dad...I am doing really well with it considering..he didn't want a funeral or memorial so we didn't bother to travel the 7 hours there...we talked to him the day before he died and to me I was ok with that being my goodbye to him...my oldest went to the beach that night and said her goodbyes..so we are all doing ok...we sent flowers to his wife..its weird he is being creamated on the same day we are moving my mom..that feels a bit strange...so all good on that front
We have everything ready to go for moms move tomorrow, I have everything set up have even done her grocery shopping so the only thing she will need to do is get stuff for her fridge and freezer later in the day or the next day and she will be set.
I ended up in the er on friday and then again on tuesday...they are not sure about the dizziness but they think the rest of my symptoms are being linked to anxiety and stress...so they think as nothing else shows up...but its weird I don't feel stressed or anxious..so trying out how to destress my mind and body when I don't actually feel that way and see if it helps..and they are still running some tests and want an mri...guess only time will tell.
Have spent a bit more oney lately buying my mom a few things...but still have a couple paydays this month so will put that into our ice acct and keep working on it from there...also have her budget done and written out so can knock that off the list..will start helping my neice in a week or so..with her budget...she is about to have another baby and is not great with money but she listens to me...so we will ee how she goes

Had a bbq yesterday for fathers day...I ended up so sick it was ridiculous hubby was ready to take back to the er...was only there a few days ago so I said wait...and I eventually got a little better...I almost forgot to call my dad as I was to sick..and I thought I should just do it tomorrow...but I ended up calling him..afterall it was fathers day and even though I was sick my gut just told me to do it...so I did he didn't sound well and hasn't since he had a couple strokes a few months back...but we all had a quick chat to him and then let him get off the phone...well we got a call late this morning he has had a heart attack and was heading to the hospital...then got a call that he had passed...so now I am sitting here so sad that we haven't been able to visit him due to the virus...and we will never see him again...but also so glad that I did listen to my gut and call him and got to speak with him on his last fathers day...In a way it was a relief..my dad was never sick and always active (he was 87) until his strokes which made it hard for him to do things and he hated not being able to move around much...so I know that he is happier and that he lived a full life..and that he will always be remembered and loved..not a way to start the week so hopefully the rest of the week gets better...its the first time we have had someone in our family die in 25 years I think we are all a bit unsure of what we should be doing...but one day at a time..right!

Well today is fathers day so we are having a small bbq witth hubby and his son just a quiet one since we are all recovering.
Monday I will start writing out my moms budget since she moves on thursday and it is easier for her to just open and follow what it says and it makes her not forget what needs to be paid (she is 81) I do most of it for her anyways but I like her to have control of her money as much as she can,,just easier for me to do it all online...once that is done..can relax and hope to be able to help them on thursday...right now I am not able to be left alone...which sucks..but thats life we will get through it...hope everyone else has a great fathers day

It has been a hell of a week..earlier in the week my hubbys son ended up in the er...all is okay and he went home later that day...then today I ended up in the ER again for the 2nd time in a month...they still can't figure out what is wrong so it is a work in progress.
We have everything set up for mom to move on thursday..she is so excited and friday she is getting her new furniture...I can't wait to get all her stuff out of my dining room...literally can't move in there but it is worth it..its all her new stuff and groceries..but everything else is done and ready to go.
One thing I have learnt, my moms small chest freezer broke so we were looking for a new one...no stores even had them on the floor as they have been sold out for months and dont know when they will get any..but they had a shipment that morning that was a surprise to them..and it was small chest freezer so we bought her one then and there and picked it up..its big enough for her...so happy to do it...but didn't even know we had a shortage on them.
Have paid all bills for the month haven't really done much with the ice/savings yet and didn't even do banking today as I ended up at the er so will get to that this weekend or next week...no hurry...but we are having a bbq for fathers day this weekend so need to rest up for that..
