vaccine question?

May 16th, 2021 at 03:20 am

So far in Australia we only have the pfizer and astrazeneca AZ as we call it)...unfortunately the az causes blood clots so many people won't use it and it's the only one that is available to over 50's, the pfizer one is available to under 50's so me and my hubby have decided not to get it...as we don't trust the AZ one...now they have said that they have ordered the moderna one from the US and it should be here sometime this year...so maybe we will get that one...I know there has been so much more vaccines given in the US so wondering what others have thought about the moderna one..we haven't heard about much of it...it's so funny we are a country of 26 million people and have ordered 195 million vaccines...guessing they will be sending the AZ one to some 3rd worl country as they won't want them....let me know what you think of the vaccine please.

New Hampshire was giving out Moderna at big drive in sites. We got it happily.

I was fortunate enough to get the Pfizer, people that I know who have received the Moderna has had side effects but was able to push through. I personally wouldn’t get the AZ or Johnson & Johnson

I really haven't heard much on the moderna one...what kind of side effects did they have?...I know I won't be gettinf the AZ or JJ one...lucky for us we don't have it in the community so it makes it a bit easier...we have had this years flu shot...that was more of a priority...wish we could get the pfizer one

Husband had pain in arm. No big deal. Daughter felt " yucky" day 2 after shot # 2; I felt "yucky" days 2 and 3 after second shot.

I've heard a few more side effects stories with people getting the Moderna shot but nothing serious and nothing lasting more than 24 hours. Mostly feeling a bit "flu-ish" with fever and chills. One friend felt nauseous (but Dramamine helped); one friend felt dizzy, and most really felt nothing other than a sore arm and some fatigue.

I got the Pfizer vaccine and just had a sore arm and a bit of fatigue after shot #2.

Moderna and Pfizer are both considered excellent. DH received the Modern and his side effect other than a sore arm both times, was fatigue on the second one. I've received the Pfizer and the same with me, some fatigue after the second shot, but I just took it easy.

I just got my first dose of Moderna today. My last tetanus shot hurt more than this, but it might be worse tomorrow, they said. That's all I can say. The one thing that surprised me was you don't get your second dose for 4 weeks, instead of two.

They are all fine, safe, and effective. We don't have AZ here but we do have J&J which also had the blood clot concern. They paused using it for a week or so but resumed when they determined the clot risk wasn't significant.

I think everyone should get vaccinated as soon as they possibly can with whichever vaccine they have access to.

As for side effects, it is very much an individual thing ranging from virtually none to being out of commission for a day, and it doesn't matter which vaccine you get.

The risk from the J&J and AZ vaccines is so small, it is less risky than crossing the street or getting into a car. Please don't let the hysteria surrounding it hinder you from getting vaccinated. Steve is a physician, you may know, so his word can be trusted.

FYI, I had the Moderna and had pain at the injection site and a slight under-the-weather feeling the next day which I probably couldn't honestly distinguish from an ordinary day.

I was very sick after the second shot. But if I knew that would i still take it? Yes.

I won't take the AZ vaccine both my hubby and myself already have underlying health issues and those are the people being affected...hubby is just finishing up cancer teatment so has compromised immune system and I have almost a paradox reaction to medications so won't risk it...but what most don't realise is we live in australia and we don't have any covid in the community and haven't for a long time..the only cases we get are from people coming in from overseas and they have to go to a medi hotel till they are cleared (at least 2 weeks) so there is no dire need for it...Thankyou everyone...I think I will get the moderna one when it comes out later in the year

Well we have had 2 more people in hospital with blood clotts (or TTP) as they call it one is 86 the other 53...so this confirms for me that I am definately not getting it...would rather walk around with masks etc than that injection

Both my dad and I got the Moderna shots. Aside from a sore arm for about a day, I had a mild headache the day of the shot. Not a biggie. Better than the alternative. Honestly, I would take either of the shots.
