Well I see the bif beautiful bill passed through, I am just wondering what it means for Americans?
I have read what it means on the white house page but it seems like everything else and is a lie to what they actually say and what many more have actually said as well so I am confused, so financially speaking what does it mean? I know the rich will get richer and the poor will get little or be worse off but what about the rest of the people. What does this mean with taxes etc.

1. The kicking people off healthcare and food stamps won't go into effect until AFTER the midterm elections. They are hoping people won't realize what's going to happen to them until after they vote Republican again.
2. The billionaire tax cuts are permanent, but the tax break on tips for people making less than $25k a year expire after three years.
If that doesn't sum up how deceptive and unfair it is, I don't know what could. It's a massive redistribution of wealth that will take even more from poor and middle class people and give it to those who already have too much and don't pay their fair share.

I received a propaganda-y email from social security that says that taxes on social security are largely eliminated *and* seniors will get additional tax breaks. As far as I can tell, this is not true. There is a senior tax break, but no additional tax changes to social security? Like the tips tax break, the senior tax break will expire in 2028.

The people snatching people for deportation already seem to be out of shape thugs with no identification wearing full face masks and driving unmarked vehicles.
I’d like to think that there aren’t enough evil people to fill the jobs, but this seems to me to be the next step towards a police state.
I am a little old lady but I wouldn.kt travel outside the country for fear of what border agents might honk of my social media.
The other really bad thing is that Trump knows he is fully unchecked. I won’t be surprised if we invade Greenland, Panama, Mexico or Canada before the Summer is over.
It gives me hope that so many who post here understand the truth of what is going on. Too many don’t think voting is worth the effort. I hope the result isn.’t that voter turnout doesn’t matter when elections are cancelled.

lots of ideas we get fined here if we dont vote, they open a couple weeks early for people who cant vote on the day or will be travelling, who do postal votes etc...but if you dont vote you will get fined..first you et 90 days to say why you couldnt vote, if you dont respond you will be fined $112 if you dont pay that you will be charged a further $185 then you could end up in court and it will cost you a whole lot more

I think CeeJay covered basically what I was thinking, and the fact that it's an immense shift in wealth distribution: More for the rich, less for those in need of social and financial assistance.
My main concern is that there are a bunch of people out there that still don't seem to understand how much of a cesspool this administration is, and is still willing to defend them in some way. I've said this many times before, and I will say it again: This isn't about Left or Right, this is about Right or Wrong. If the Democrats did what Trump did, I would be just as against them, but some appear to be lifetime subscribers to Tribalism....
Elsewhere on the internet, the general sentiment outside the US appears to be that the American people can no longer be trusted to vote for the right kind of leadership towards liberty and freedom. The policy decisions from this shift in mindset could be seismic in the years and decades to come, as the rest of the world decides how they will go forward in this global economy without the US. This is sad but understandable.
