no packages to the US for a while!!

We our postal service is stopping all packages to the US and peurto rico until further notice.

It is because of the tarrifs that come into affect friday so it is starting today. It is sad because we have always a great free trade agreement with the US until Trump came in and decided to put tariffs on everyone. I think we are also being punished  because we support Ukraine and Palestine....I am hoping they can come to some agreement before to many businesses in both countries are affected although we are doing trades with other countries.

Sad it has come to this....don't know how the world is going to recover from Trump and all that he has done because it does affect all countries...just hope we stay strong because they are one of our biggest allies...or at least use to be

    The US tariffs in Australia are reciprocal, meaning that Australia had already been taxing US goods at 10%.

    No australia has a free trade agreement (AUSFTA) and the US pays no tariffs on exports to australia

    Jerry, AUSFTA has meaningfully eliminated nearly all tariffs between the US and Australia since 2005. To be fair, there are indeed specific exceptions, which is probably what MAGA is referring to, such as commercial buses to military equipment (as if the US needs to import those in the first place) and more. The specifics are available online, and I encourage everyone to peruse it before commenting like I have.

    In response to this 20+ year old working agreement, Trump slapped back with a baseline tariff on all Australian goods, effectively stunting trade that is beneficial to both countries.

    Also, don’t let the term “reciprocal tariffs” fool you. This isn’t some kind of self defense for the US against economic mistreatment. Everything was fine before. Trump is making it not fine.
